Most Business Intelligence Solution providers offer technology products designed for technology users.  IVidea provides Business Solutions to business users.  Proper Business Intelligence solution requires an in depth understanding of business metrics and business acumen.  The implementation crew needs to communication with both, high level management and technology people.  The correct definition and grouping of business dimensions, measures and key performance indicators requires in depth understanding of the business. Most solutions on the market today are of highly technical nature.  Their user interfaces are too complicated and complex for most non-technical executives and managers.  It is like giving a jumbo jet to a person that has never flown an airplane before and say ”Go Fly”. 

 

During implementations, most business intelligence companies make the mistake of taking all the available data from existing systems and creating massive data warehouse environments.   These implementations can take years to complete and often result in frustrated business users who still have to rely on the Information Analysts to get the information they need. 

 

IVidea uses a different approach.  We use the top-down method in which we first identify and teach executives the information they really need and then work with the technology group to get the data.  We then transform the data and map it to the business rules and present it in an easy to use interface for both, the power user and the executives.  It is a mistake to overwhelm executives with feature rich, complex technical solutions.  Executives and managers should be the primary users of Business Intelligence solutions and not technical people.
